Shoe Care Guide

Maintaining the natural look and feel of your shoes.

Cordani shoes are always designed with comfort in mind so that your feet feel as good as they look. Our footwear bottoms provide even weight distribution to allow you to work or play all day long. The curved lines of our under-soles provide you with a “rocker-effect” which gently propels you forward as you walk. Many of our constructions include arch supports, heel grips, padded footbeds and other comfort features to pamper your feet every step of the way.

We use the highest quality leathers, suede and other materials to produce our footwear. Slight marks and variations in the color and texture are natural characteristics of the leather that enhance the unique appeal of the shoes. Here are some helpful hints to preserve the beauty of your footwear:

Leather – Dust and dirt should be removed before cleaning. Stains can be wiped with a soft cloth moistened in water. For difficult stains moisten the cloth in a solution of water and neutral soap.

Suede – Treat with an appropriate protector that protects against stains ands water damage before use. As with leather, dust and dirt should be removed before cleaning. A crepe or a soft bristle brush can be used to gently rub out light stains. Regularly brushing the suede to keep the nap raised will freshen-up the material, maintaining the shoe’s look and feel.

Heels – Most styles with heels have a replaceable component on the bottom of each heel. Make sure that this piece does not wear down to the heel itself. If there is considerable wear, the piece can be replaced by any local cobbler to preserved the integrity of the heel.

General tips:

  • Store footwear in a dry location away from sources of heat and direct light.
  • Alternate your shoes, avoiding excessive wear.
  • Fill shoes with tissue paper or wooden shoe molds when not in use.
  • If shoes come in contact with water, let them air dry.
  • Avoid contact with heat, oil, grease, alcohol or other abrasive products.
